Interior

The new Tiguan has an excellent interior with quality materials. Depending on the trim, the seats come covered in faux-leather, cloth, or pure leather.

Engine & Performance

The 2023 Tiguan features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. FWD (front-wheel-drive) is standard, but the 4Motion AWD is optional. The powertrain works with eight-speed automatic transmission.

The fuel economy of the new Tiguan remains unchanged from the 2020 model. The EPA-estimated city/highway rating stands at 22/29 MPG with front-wheel-drive trim models while 4Motion all-wheel-drive model attains 20/27 MPG.

Is The VW Tiguan 4 Wheel Drive?

No. The new VW Tiguan is available with two configurations: the 4Motion all-wheel-drive and front-wheel-drive. The VW phased out the initial four-wheel drive model because of its low fuel economy.
