  • Daytime Running Light
    • This symbol will be the lettersDRLand it's just alerting you that your Daytime Running Lights are in use.
  • Shift Alert
    • This sign will look like a shoe and it's there to alert you that you didn't press on the brake before shifting gears. 

Yellow Warning Sign

If your warning sign is the color yellow, don't panic, most of your warning signs will be yellow. This just means there's an issue that should be tended to whenever you finish your ride. It's there to make you aware of the problembefore it gets any worse.

  • Fuel Cap Off
    • This means your fuel cap isn't on securely. It will look like a car witha screw going into the side of it.
  • Engine Malfunction
    • This light stands for a general engine malfunction and you'll want to get your car to a service center. This symbol will be the letters EPC.
  • Engine Emission
    • This will be your typical engine shaped check engine light. This means your emissions aren't up to standards and they need to be serviced.
  • Antilock Braking Malfunction
    • This symbol will be the letters ABS. This just means there's an issue with your anti-lock brakes. Your regular brakes will still be in use.
  • Steering Malfunction
    • This light will simply be a steering wheel. You might even notice this before the light turns on because it means there's an issue with your power steering.

Red Warning Sign

Engine Temperature Dashboard Light

A red warning sign is a cause to pull over. This is definitely the most severeof the three colors and you'll want to find a safe place to pull over and stop your car immediately. 

  • Hood Open
    • While this is a very quick fix, it's absolutely necessary to pull over and attend to immediately. The hood of you VW Atlas should never be open while you're operating it. This light will be a side profile of a car with the hood up.
  • Brake System Malfunction
    • This light will be an exclamation point. This means either there is a problem with your braking system or simply means your parking brake is engaged, check your parking brake first to eliminate that issue.
  • Charging System Failure
    • This symbol will be a car battery. This means your battery isn't charging properly.
  • Engine Temperature
    • This will appear when your engine temperature is too high, and you'll want to pull over right away to avoid overheating. This symbol will be a thermometer in liquid.
